British Airway's Color Changing Blankets Track Passengers' Emotions (video)

British Airways has been testing the  “happiness blanket”, a high-tech blanket that changes colors according to the passenger's emotions. The blanket has optical fibers woven into it  that can sense the brainwaves of the user with the use of neuro-sensors measuring a person’s brainwaves. It then changes color, from red to blue, to show when they are at their most relaxed and meditative to anxious. The blanket connects with a headset via Bluetooth that tracks the brainwaves. The tiny LEDs glow according to the feed it receives from the headset.

Why? “Using technology like the ‘happiness blanket’ is another way for us to investigate how our customers’ relaxation and sleep is affected by everything on board, from the amount of light in the cabin, when they eat and their position in the seat,” British Airways said in a news release.

It doesn't get more real than this for millennials and gen-x! This is such a great documentary and cultural study of the young and young minded people today. It's not a brand or product push, it's a real look at the consumers that define the brand.

"From the same brand heritage that brought you Dogtown and Z-Boys, No Room for Rockstars, and Bones Brigade comes Vans' first-ever documentary series."

Phone + Book

Are you one of those people that always has your phone out while working? Whether it's to check an email, the calendar use the calculator or to check a note; we are constantly connected to our phones. Try this, ask someone the time and they are most likely going to look at their phone even if they are wearing a watch. Oh how dependant we have become...

So when you are the office or coffee-shop taking notes or brainstorming an incredible new idea, you can now doodle your thoughts with your phone at hand, or should I say, in book. "Taiwanese design group KBme2 has created a notebook that lets you ‘integrate’ your phone into it, to combine the analog with the digital during idea-generation processes."

There's even a cut-out for a pen, pencil or stylus...whatever your medium.

Kind of genius when you want to check a message discreetly during a meeting too!

World's First Glow-In-The-Dark Ice Cream (video)

(Photo WJ London)

Would you indulge in an alien made glow-in-the-dark ice cream cone? Cornetto and culinary art company aka mad food scientists, Bompas and Parr have partnered to to create the world’s first glow in the dark Cornetto. If you don't know what a Cornetto is, you are definitely missing out. It's like the European version of a cream, not chicken!

They handed these deliciously eerie treats to the audiences at the release of The World's End -- the final instalment of the Cornetto Trilogy at the Vue Cinema, Leicester Square in London. This is what ensued...

Not sure what alien ingredients are in this, but I would love to see this in freezers for Halloween! Such a cool and creepy treat!

Tokyo Zoo Project: Creating The World's Largest Zoo By GPS (video)

To promote the Nav-U, navigation system, Sony took to twitter and the streets of Tokyo. Based on animals that people wanted to see mapped out by streets, they were able to create geographical maps based on GPS points that cyclists could follow to explore Tokyo while creating an outline of an animal.

The project started 2 years ago but is still available on the Sony Nav-U system.

What a cool way to engage consumers, promote and sell a new product and prmote health and wellness!
