Melter 3-D Sculpture Appears to Endlessly Melt (video)

Melter 3-D is a sculpture that is actually an optical illusion created by digital artist Takeshi Murata.  The small chrome sphere sits alone in the corner of a dark room, illuminated by strobe lights from various angles. The lighting is synchronized with rapid spinning to create a hypnotic, repetitive impression of movement. It was shown at Frieze New York 2014.

The artist explains, "I’m very interested in technology and illusion. One of the my favorite aspects of art making is it’s connection to magic. I think there is some connection to magic in all the work I like. It’s a way of showing things in a new light, a new dimension that gives a perspective to recognize some of the illusion around us."

A Nod To Developers And The iOS Apps That Change Our Lives (video)

This is truly an inspiring and moving tribute to developers around the world. "Developers -- and the iOS apps they create -- have changed the way we all interact, learn, entertain, work, and live. Here's a little thank you note to developers, written by people who can't live without their apps."

Edible Mist Machine By The Modern Day Willy Wonka (video)

Charlie Harry Francis is like a modern day Willy Wonka with "the wonderful world of delicious edible inventions" at Lick Me I'm Delicious. He has made a machine that lets us eat mist that tastes of apple pie, smoked bacon, cotton candy, and chocolate. Using ultrasonic vapourisation, the machine creates a micromist of flavour that you suck up through a straw. The “Edible Mist Machine” can produce up to 200 flavors, and will let us taste these foods without consuming the calories. I'm pretty sure it will induce cravings rather than satiate an appetite.

It's a great way for stores and restaurants to stimulate your senses – or as a memorable experience at a party.

Tiny Things On Pantone Chips

Tiny PMS Match is a project by Texas based designer Inka Mathew that is on Tumblr. Tiny items are placed on their corresponding Pantone chip. The descriptors that go with each one are personal and pretty funny. Overall, it's a fun study of color and everyday objects.

It's easy to spend quite a bit of time going through each one. Check out more on the Tumblr page.
